WHAT IS VITAMIN B12, AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin that is usually only found in meat as a food source. If you follow a vegetarian or vegan diet it is very important to monitor your vitamin B12 intake as it is a nutrient rarely found in food sources other than fish and meat.
OUR VITAMIN B12 SUPPLEMENT
There are a few forms of vitamin B12 available on the market such as methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin. We use methylcobalamin in our vitamin B12 supplements, as research has shown that this form of vitamin B12 remains in the body for a longer period of time and at higher levels than cyanocobalamin.
WHAT DOES VITAMIN B12 DO?
B12 can contribute to normal:
- Reduction of tiredness and fatigue including
- Energy-yielding metabolism
- Functioning of the nervous system
- Psychological function.
- Maintenance of red blood cells
- Homocysteine metabolism.
We offer B12 in the form of a vegetable cellulose capsule. This enables us to offer a supplement that does not require excipients or binders. As B12 is required in such small amounts, it's not enough to fill a small capsule. So to fill the rest of the capsule we use plant-based alfalfa as opposed to unnatural fillers. A vegetable cellulose capsule is designed specifically to break down naturally within the acid of your stomach, ensuring the nutrients are absorbed during digestion.
SUITABLE FOR VEGANS
Our Vitamin B12 supplement is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. It is also kosher approved and does not contain any major allergens.
